About Damien Castaneda

I can remember as a 19 year-old design student sitting alongside peers decades my senior, wondering whether in time I too would change my profession. Looking back over a thirty-plus year career, I feel the same excitement for the work.

Serving for a decade as Art Director for national American consumer magazines in the 2000s taught me the fine art of working fast, being resourceful, and fashioning originality out of virtually nothing.

As Art Director for Athens-based BeCommunicated, I was given a unique insight into the economic and political challenges facing Greece, and a chance to advance her interests through my own vision.

My current tenure in Anchorage, Alaska has taught me how deeply rooted design is in the culture that created it, and the importance of understanding the community you are addressing.

I am an organized, proactive, and highly detail-oriented project manager with a deep knowledge of design, typography, photography, illustration, and video.

I look upon all design projects as a personal vocation worthy of my deepest
artistic investment.
